Wodyetia bifurcata, commonly known as the Foxtail Palm, is a species of palm tree native to northeastern Queensland, Australia. It is a relatively small palm that can reach up to 10 meters in height with a slender, smooth trunk that is gray in color and slightly swollen at the base. The tree gets its name from the unique appearance of its leaves, which are deeply divided into numerous narrow segments, giving them a feathery, foxtail-like appearance. The leaves can grow up to 3 meters in length and are arranged in a graceful, arching pattern. Wodyetia bifurcata produces clusters of small, white or yellow flowers that are followed by oval-shaped, red or orange fruits that contain a single seed. It is a popular ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical regions, where it is often used in landscaping and as a specimen tree. It is relatively hardy and can tolerate a range of growing conditions, including drought, heat, and salt spray, making it a favorite for coastal regions.
